The federal cabinet has given its approval for a comprehensive security plan to be implemented during the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. To ensure foolproof security measures, both the Pakistan Army and Punjab Rangers will be deployed as per the request made by the Punjab government, government sources revealed.

The Ministry of Interior forwarded a summary regarding the Punjab government's request for enhanced security arrangements during the Asia Cup. The federal cabinet efficiently approved this measure via circulation, underscoring the significance of ensuring a safe environment for the sporting event.

The security deployment strategy indicates a proactive approach by utilizing the expertise and resources of the Pakistan Army and Punjab Rangers. These specialized forces will work in collaboration to ensure the safety and security of participants, spectators, and all individuals associated with the Asia Cup 2023.

The security arrangements for the highly anticipated Asia Cup 2023 have been solidified, with the deployment of the Pakistan Army and Punjab Rangers during the tournament. According to sources, this deployment will be in effect from August 27 to September 6, covering the entire duration of the event.

The Asia Cup 2023, scheduled to be hosted jointly by Pakistan and Sri Lanka, will take place from August 30 to September 17. The event will commence with an exciting match between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan.

The security deployment strategy entails a multi-tiered approach. The Punjab Rangers will play a crucial role in the second tier Quick Reaction Forces (QRFs), contributing to the comprehensive security measures. On the other hand, the Pakistan Army's deployment will encompass the third tier QRF mode, further strengthening the security framework.

In addition to the primary security forces, special forces will also be on standby, ready to respond swiftly in case of any unforeseen situations. This proactive approach underscores the commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all participants, attendees, and stakeholders of the Asia Cup 2023.

The tournament's schedule includes a series of thrilling matches to be played across various cities. Notably, four matches are set to take place in Pakistan between August 30 and September 6, with the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore hosting three of them.
