Pakistan's premier javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem, achieved a historic milestone on Sunday by becoming the first Pakistani athlete to secure a medal in the World Athletics Championships.
Arshad Nadeem lifted the silver medal with a remarkable throw of 87.82 meters in the men's javelin throw final, during the World Athletics Championships held in Budapest on August 27, 2023.
The achievement marks a significant moment in Pakistani sports history, showcasing Nadeem's exceptional talent and dedication in the field of javelin throwing.
The podium ceremony saw Nadeem celebrating his well-deserved silver medal, making Pakistan proud on the international stage.

Pakistan's premier javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem, made history on Sunday by becoming the first Pakistani athlete to claim a medal in the World Athletics Championships. He achieved this milestone with a remarkable throw of 87.82 meters in the men's javelin throw final at the global event held in Budapest, Hungary.
Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra of India secured the gold medal with a throw of 88.17 meters, while Jakub Vadlejch of Czech Republic claimed the bronze with a throw of 86.67 meters.
Arshad Nadeem's exceptional performance came after he returned to the international circuit following a year of fitness challenges. His top form and determination led him to secure Pakistan's first-ever medal in the World Athletics Championships history.
"It was a splendid effort from Arshad. He made the whole nation proud by snaring the first-ever medal for the country in the World Athletics Championships history," said Athletics Federation of Pakistan president Major General (retd) Mohammad Akram Sahi.
"Arshad would have known where he made mistakes. He could have managed his best today but he will need to work harder and in the future, he can pull off more fantastic results," said Arshad's former coach Fayyaz Hussain Bukhari.
"It was a gift from God. He was in rehab and was playing after a year. I hoped he would get gold but still, we are thankful to God. He created history," said Arshad's coach Salman Butt.
