Pakistan, having already secured a 2-0 series victory, aims for a clean sweep against Afghanistan in the third and final one-day international (ODI) cricket match.

A win today would propel Pakistan to overtake Australia and claim the top spot in the International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI ranking.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam noted the challenges of the first 10 overs but expressed confidence in setting a formidable target to put pressure on the Afghan team. Pakistan's playing eleven sees four changes with Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, and Mohammad Wasim Jr replacing Usama Mir, Iftikhar Ahmed, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan faced a setback as all-rounder Azmatullah Umarzai was ruled out due to a side strain. All-rounder Gulbadin Naib has been brought in as a replacement.

In the previous match, Pakistan narrowly clinched victory by one wicket against Afghanistan. Naseem Shah, who previously led Pakistan to triumph against the same opposition in Asia Cup 2022, played a crucial role in securing another thrilling victory in the last over.
